Dr Samjhana Kumari Kafle (Pandey) completed her Masters of Tropical Veterinary Science in 2003 from James Cook University, Australia. Dr Kafle Pandey is the Chief Veterinary Officer – the first woman to be in such a place ever in the history of the Department of Livestock in Nepal.

Dr Samjhana Kumari Kafle (Pandey) completed her Masters of Tropical Veterinary Science in 2003 from James Cook University, Australia. Dr Kafle Pandey is the Chief Veterinary Officer – the first woman to be in such a place ever in the history of the Department of Livestock in Nepal. Being in-charge of the Central Veterinary Laboratory (Nepal’s only veterinary reference laboratory), she oversees all regional laboratories. In her position, she closely works with Australian Animal Health Laboratory, Geelong, Australia for genetic characterisation of important poultry diseases including Avian influenza.
